How to Write a Web Page for Tigerden

Tigerden has put up this Web server for -- well, for the fun of it. And 'cause Tigerwolf offered to let Tzoq put his The Residents pages here when Tzoq was whining about not having a server.

Anyway, the server is available to any and all users of Tigerden to put home pages up on. To do this, you'll need to create a new directory in your account called "WWW", and to write at least one file in HTML, the Web mark-up language. There's a really good Beginner's Guide to HTML at NCSA.

You'll want a home page file, and you can make other files that that file links to. The home page is traditionally called "index.html" or "Welcome.html", and goes in your new "WWW" directory. Once you've got it written, tell Tigerwolf or Tzoq and it'll be added to the Tigerden user index page.

Tigerden has adopted a "house style" for its Web pages. You don't have to adhere to it, but you can if you like, and you can make use of the skeleton document and icons already created for it.

If you have any questions, you can mail Tigerwolf at tigerwolf@tigerden.com or Tzoq at tzoq@csd.uwo.ca.
